This guide addresses University Career Services’ policies on reciprocity for students and alumni from non-UH universities seeking career services from the University of Houston.

1. In order to receive services from UCS, we require a letter on institutional letterhead requesting reciprocal services. This letter is usually prepared by the institution’s career services office. The letter may be hand carried to UCS, emailed to ucs@uh.edu, faxed to 713-743-5111, or mailed to UH UCS, 106 Student Service Center 1, Houston, TX 77204 The letter must verify that the individual is a student or alumnus of the institution and state that career services will be available to UH students/alumni should they be requested.
2. Upon receipt of the above letter, the following services are available for a fee of $50 per year:
   1. Use of books, DVDs/videotapes, and other resource materials on reserve at UCS.
   2. Access to JobScan (an online job posting service).
   3. Access to employer literature in the Campus Recruitment Center.
   4. Use of select UCS online career planning tools and job search handouts online, except as prohibited by software site licenses.
   5. 30 minute consultation with a career counselor.
   6. Attendance at workshops and career fairs, except for the Campus Recruitment Workshop. Campus recruitment is available to UH main campus students and alumni only.
3. Reciprocity is granted for a 12 month period beginning from the date of approval. The reciprocity fee is not pro-rated and is not refundable.
